CHRISTMASTIME IN WASHINGTON

Get ready for a spectacular time in Washington DC.  Our first stop will be in BALTIMORE for lunch and shopping on your own before checking into the Gaylord National Harbor Hotel.   The following day you will have time on your own to experience ICE, an amazing holiday display.  A walk through winter wonderland sculpted entirely of 2 million pounds of ice.  In the grand atrium of the hotel, see lights and snowfall inside the building.  You will also have a ticket to ride the National Ferris Wheel .  Lunch will be on your own.  In the afternoon, we will visit the Spy Museum.   Dinner will be included.  After dinner, we will have an illuminated Monument Driving tour.  We will have a tour of Washington at Night with stops at  the Pageant of Peace, across from the White House, and to see the National Christmas tree.    We will start the following day with optional mass at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.  Our local guide will take us to the United States Botanic Gardens.  Afterwards, we will continue to tour the sites of Washington.   We will have an early dinner before departing for home with wonderful memories of Washington at Christmas.

Wassail Weekend

Situated on 2,500 acres in beautiful Stowe, Vermont, the Trapp Family Lodge is a unique luxury mountain resort featuring Austrian-inspired architecture and European-style accommodations.  The next morning, we will have a full day filled with holiday cheer.  We will start with a tour of the Trapp Lodge.  Afterwars we will go to Billings Farm & Museum establihsed in 1871.  The musum will transport you into the 19th century as you enter the farmhouse bedecked in the historic holiday decorations. Afterwards, we will head over to Woodstock, decorated for Christmas.  It will remind you of a Dickens Fairy Tale.  We will see the annual Wassail Parade with over fifty horses and riders dressed in holiday costumes and period dress from the early 19th Century.   There will be time to browse around this quintessential Vermont town.  At 2pm, the 36th annual Wassail parade which is, without a doubt, the highlight of the Vermont holiday season!  Over 50 horses and poines clop their way around the village green, proudly carrying riders of all ages dressed in period finery to transport onlookers back to the 1800's.  No trip to Vermont is complete without a stop at the Vermont Country Store.  You will have time for shopping and lunch on your own.   The lodge has a beautiful indoor pool and spa for you to enjoy the lodge so bring your bathing suits.  Also on the property is a small bakery and gift shop.
