IMPORTANT:  -  Please note that as of February 23, 2008, the New Beginning Tours new departure location will be:  A&P, Kenilworth, NJ. 

From Garden State Parkway North or South, take Exit 138.  You will exit GSP to a traffic light.  Make a left-hand turn at the traffic light and this will put you on Kenilworth Boulevard.  The A&P is 1/2 block on your left-hand side.  When you pull into the A&P go past the front door and park in the adjacent lot.

Organized in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the artist's birth, Frida
Kahlo is the first major Kahlo exhibition in the US in nearly fifteen years. 
It
presents over 40 of the artist's most important self-portraits and still lifes, rendered in vivid colors and realistic detail.
 Kahlo's jewel-like paintings are filled with complex symbolism, often relating to specific incidents in her life.  We will be given head-sets for a self-guided tour. A movie was made in 2002 on her life. Lunch will be on our own.

The Guggenheim Museum is Frank Lloyd Wright's only NY designed building is one of the highlights of the modernist tradition.  Cai Guo-Qiang is internationally acclaimed as an artist whose creative transgressions & cultural provocations have literally exploded the accepted parametrews of art.  Cai's largest installaton to date presents 9 real cars in a cinematic progression that simulates a crash, occupying the central atrium of the Frank Lloyd Wright rotunda.   We wanted to advertise this Collette Vacation early because we are really excited about it!   First of all we will have our New Year's gala event at The Gaylord Texan Hotel, Dallas, TX,  (which is the same owner as the beautiful Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville). The Gaylord Texan Hotel has the same beautiful glass enclosed atrium - in fact, 4-1/2 acres of lush indoor gardens. Take a stroll around and soak in the festive atmosphere of Riverwalk Atrium, marvel at Palo Duro Canyon in the Lone Star Atrium - all located INSIDE this beautiful Gaylord hotel!  We will have our festive New Year's Eve gala dinner in the Gaylord - with live entertainment. We will enjoy two nights stay in this beautiful hotel, and have plenty of time to enjoy it!
   We'll arrive in San Antonio, Texas on December 28, often referred to as the "American Venice" because of their famed "river walk" which will be lit with sparkling Christmas Lights! O

From the North or South 
Take Garden State Parkway to Exit 138 (Kenilworth). Bear left and make left turn at traffic light onto Galloping Hill Road. Galloping Hill Road changes to Kenilworth Boulevard (or just Boulevard).. Travel 1/8th mile and the A&P Food Store is on the left-hand side. Make left into A&P drive-way, but continue straight to the farthest back parking lot.
     
            ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS OTHER THAN PARKWAY SEE BELOW
From
Westfield, take East Broad, turn right at light after Wychwood Co-ops) onto Springfield( Ave. ,becomes Boulevard in Kenilworth which leads to A&P.
From
Cranford, take Springfield Ave. by Union College, turn right onto Boulevard after College, leads to A&P.
From
Garwood, Cranford, Roselle Park - take North Ave. East which becomes Westfield Ave. East; turn left onto Galloping Hill Rd. (hot dog stand on corner); proceed thru 5 Points into Union/Kenilworth directly to A&P.
